三亚市，是海南省地级市，简称崖，古称崖州，别称鹿城，地处海南岛的最南端。三亚东邻陵水县，西接乐东县，北毗保亭县，南临南海，三亚市陆地总面积1921平方千米，海域总面积3226平方千米。东西长91.6千米，南北宽51公里，下辖四个区。根据第七次人口普查数据，截至2020年11月1日零时，三亚市常住人口为1031396人。

Sanya City, hainan province is a prefecture-level city, referred to as Ya, called Yazhou in ancient times, also known as Lucheng, is located in the southernmost hainan Island. With Lingshui County in the east, Ledong County in the west, Baoting County in the north and the South China Sea in the south, Sanya has a total land area of 1,921 square kilometers and a total sea area of 3,226 square kilometers. It is 91.6 kilometers long from east to west and 51 kilometers wide from north to south. It has four districts under its jurisdiction. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Sanya city is 1,031,396.

三亚是具有热带海滨风景特色的国际旅游城市，又被称为“东方夏威夷”。2016年6月14日，中国科学院对外发布《中国宜居城市研究报告》，三亚宜居指数在全国40个城市中位居第三。2016年9月，三亚入选“中国地级市民生发展100强”。2017年2月，三亚入选第三批国家低碳城市试点之一。三亚也是同时入选中国特色魅力城市200强及世界特色魅力城市200强。2017年中国地级市全面小康指数排名第50  。2018年12月，入选2018中国最佳旅游目的地城市第15名。 2018年12月13日，入选中国特色农产品优势区名单。三亚是“无废城市”建设试点城市。2019年10月23日，被确定为“第三批城市黑臭水体治理示范城市”。 2020年11月底至12月初，第六届亚洲沙滩运动会将在海南省三亚市举行。

Sanya, also known as the "Hawaii of the East", is an international tourist city with tropical seaside scenery. On June 14, 2016, The Chinese Academy of Sciences released the "China Livable City Research Report", and the Livable index of Sanya ranked third among 40 cities in China. In September 2016, Sanya was selected as one of the top 100 prefecture-level Cities in China for livelihood Development. In February 2017, Sanya was selected as one of the third batch of national low-carbon cities pilot. Sanya was also included in the top 200 Charming Cities with Chinese Characteristics and the top 200 charming Cities with World characteristics. In 2017, China ranked 50th in the overall well-off index of prefecture-level cities. In December 2018, it was selected as the 15th best Tourist Destination city of 2018 in China. On December 13, 2018, it was selected into the list of advantages of Chinese characteristic agricultural products. Sanya is a pilot city for the construction of "waste-free city". On October 23, 2019, it was identified as "the third batch of urban black and smelly water treatment demonstration cities". From late November to early December 2020, the 6th Asian Beach Games will be held in Sanya, Hainan Province.
